Still 20Km to khenifra

I’m still struggling with my bike shifter. It’s hard to find bike enthusiasts here. Everyone just oils the chain and shifter extremely, which worsens the situation, as they ignore my “pls don’t put oil anymore.”

The weather is fine while cycling, but hot when resting. Trees are a blessing but rare to find. Views near Ayachi (3710 m) are stunning, with roller coaster streets. Water scarcity is a big issue; most rivers and waterfalls are dried up. Passed through mining areas and a cemetery of dead people working there.

Nice Street
can you spot the alon standing House
Going to work in the Heat…
sand hurricanes

Experienced our first sand hurricanes, some around 30 meters high. Nice to watch, but unsure how it feels up close.

Another Dried river…
Descending to 500 m in 5 Minutes

Descended from 1800 m to 1200 m in 5 minutes, then climbed back. Heard more running water and saw birds in a green spot. Bought groceries in Aguelmouss, but no guesthouse. The next village was unfriendly, a rare experience. Kids followed us, and communication was impossible. Streets to Khénifra (20 km away) are miserable, and drivers are reckless.

see Birds?!
Nice haircut…

Sunset…
This is where we slept behind the gate…
this is exactly where we put the tent

Asked many people for help, but everyone was afraid. Found a small mosque not on the map. Pitched tent at the entrance. Windy night until 3 am, then calm. Looking forward to meeting our next host in Khénifra.
